Café Composer
Here I am, hard at work outside a local café. I’ve got my coffee, I’ve got my music. Who could ask for anything more (donuts)?

Mt. Tabor Reservoir
Looking out over the reserver at Mt. Tabor park. I am a beautiful human being, words can’t bring me down, although sufficient firepower will.

Playing at the Old Church
A photo of me playing at the Old Church, August 2010. How convenient that the hall was already lit to match the colorscheme of my website and no editing was required!

Artwork

Collage Espressivo
Originally a potential background for SimonBielman.com, later reworked in the blue/gold color scheme used now. Excerpts from scores of my own with blended with abstract shapes with a rainbow color filter. |
Bachedelic
Sheet music excerpts from Bach layered atop a starfield, all blended with bold, water-like violet and red ripples.
Coffee Quartet
The instruments of a string quartet in three flavors: chocolate, peanut butter, and mocha. Coffee-cup ring stains were overlayed to give the image a “used” feeling.
Coffee Quartet Blue
The original “Coffee Quartet” image infused with fruity, blueberry flavor. Goes well with the original, just like your favorite muffin, assuming your favorite muffin is also blueberry.
Metallic Cave
An abstract collage of circles, negative circles, and randomly-organized colored polygons. Filters have been applied to give it a rough look, similar to the wall of a cave.
Strokes
Abstract airbrush strokes in the style of a signature. This was an experiment with expressive lines and soft colors.
Scorch Blend
More experiments with single strokes and color-blending. This image very much reminds me of fire, as if the white marks are being burnt.

Stained Quartet
The “Coffee Quartet” image re-imagined in the style of a stained-glass window. The outlines of the instruments are partnered with random polygons for more regions of color.

8veU Concert Series
8veU Concert (Jazz)
The first concert in the 8veU concert series, featuring local jazz musicians. Jazz is cool, blue is cool, so jazz is blue. The poster was blue.
8veU Concert (Mozart)
The second concert in the 8veU concert series featured works exclusively by Mozart. The red and gold colors reflect portraits and wardrobes known to be warn by Amadeus himself. It also looks neat.
8veU Concert (Brazilian Combo)
The third and final concert presented by the 8veU concert series in 2009. Brazil is a colorful place, so this is a colorful poster.

Iconoclassic Front Cover
The cover artwork for the CD Iconoclassic, integrating photos, website images, and piano keys to give an impression for the music on this album. I drink coffee, I play classical music on the piano, and I like pretty color gradients.

Corvallis Concert Poster
The poster used for a concert in Corvallis, OR on January 15th, 2011. This is nearly identical to a poster for a concert in August, 2010, which used a color scheme similar to the website and CD cover art.
